The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently issued revised guidelines for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for 2025. Based on feedback from previous year CUET exams, these changes have been introduced with an aim to enhance the standardization, transparency, and efficiency of the CUET examination process. This article delves into the latest updates to the CUET 2025 exam pattern for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) levels, as published by UGC through a public notification on 11th December 2024. UGC has also invited the key CUET stakeholders to submit suggestions for the same.
The CUET was introduced in 2010 as a unified platform to streamline admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various universities in India. It ensures a common level playing platform for students from diverse boards (Like ICSE, CBSE, State Boards, etc.) and socio-economic backgrounds. The CUET 2024 exam witnessed participation from 283 universities and over 13 lakh registered candidates, underlining its importance in India’s academic ecosystem, and making it one of the most competitive exams for students seeking admissions in colleges.
